i just wanted to tell you that your hair is soo pretty! i was searching your page before i asked this question. but how long have you been natural?
Thank you so much!! My last perm was three years ago on the 8th of January. I had my big chop in September 2008, so I’ve only been completely natural for about two and a half years. Thanks for the question.
Smile, though your heart is aching, smile, Even though it’s breaking When there are clouds, in the sky you’ll get by If you smile, through all fear and sorrow Smile and maybe tomorrow You’ll find the sun come shining through for you
Light up your face, with gladness Hide every trace of sadness
[Chorus] Although a tear maybe ever so near Cause that’s the time you must keep on trying Smile, what’s the use of crying You’ll find that life is still worth while If you, you just smile
Smile, darling baby, smile Thank you, thank you very much

we all know that the perks of being natural is the versatility of it all. And no one product works for everone, so trial and error is the norm. However, I have noticed that there are things that we all need, regardless of curl pattern, length, etc. to make sure our ride is a…
I’ve been saying this to myself for for about the past 1.5 years since my hair has gotten longer. My hair is long, but more than that, my hair is extremely thick. I mean EXTREMELY thick. Now imagine having all of this…AND IT”S NATURAL.
I’ve depended on my stylists to do my hair once a month since I’ve been natural and have been afraid to do any styling on my own…until now. Don’t get me wrong, I’ll still be going to my stylists, but I don’t mind doing it on my own when I can.
Last weekend my Chicks Tamara @naturalhairrule and Lorece @embalmingfluid did my hair, gave me tips and I paid attention. I took what they did and repeated it on my own. I was so proud of me and absolutely LOVE my results. It might not be perfect, but I’m happy with my first complete do and that’s all that matters.
Natural hair takes time and care. You can’t rush it, you have to be patient and you will get it. I’m glad to tell myself that and can’t wait to do more with MY OWN HAIR.
30. Look back on this last month and talk about it.
This past month has had many highs and lows. I truly enjoyed my holiday break, had a wonderful Christmas with family and a awesome New Year’s with friends. The last couple of weeks has been very hard and stressful within a particular part of my life.
During the past month, one area that has really been a high has been this blog. I’ve gained more followers and had more postings within this month than I’ve ever had before. I see this as just the beginning. I’m proud to have completed this 30 day journey…who knows, there may be another in my future someday.
